July 28, 2025 — NRL Hunter, presented by Leupold Optics, is proud to conclude its landmark 5th season with the highly anticipated 2025 Grand Slam Championship, set for August 8-10, 2025, at the renowned Gunsite Academy in Paulden, Arizona. This exclusive, high-stakes event, hosted by match director Josh Reeves, will bring together the season’s top-tier hunters for an unforgettable weekend of precision shooting, field challenges, and community celebration.
The NRL Hunter Grand Slam Championship presented by Leupold Optics is more than just a competition, it’s a celebration of the community, passion, and excellence that define NRL Hunter. This year’s championship marks the culmination of a milestone season. The organization hosted over 30 events across the United States, including a destination match in Alaska, two events in Canada, and several one-day competitions known as NRL Hunter Games, which continue to run year-round and serve as accessible entry points for new hunters and competitors. Josh Reeves and the NRL Hunter team have curated a truly special season championship, featuring exciting stages, that tests hunters’ limits, and a high level of competitive spirit that resonates with outdoor hunters.
“We are incredibly proud of how far this community has come in just five seasons and of every hunter who has worked hard all season to earn their place at this championship,” said Travis Ishida, President, NRL Hunter. “Their commitment to ethical hunting and skill development is what drives this community forward. This year, we saw remarkable growth, increased international participation, and new experiences that pushed the boundaries of what competitive hunting can look like. This is going to be a championship weekend to remember.”
A Celebration of the Community and Its Sponsors
NRL Hunter extends deep appreciation to all its 2025 season sponsors, including title sponsor Leupold Optics, whose dedication and innovation continue to elevate the sport. The support from every partner has helped fuel its growth, advance the mission of elevating field-ready outdoor experiences, and ensure a top-tier experience for every participant.
“NRL Hunter brings together the best of both worlds, hunters and shooters who demand relentless performance from themselves and their gear,” said Ryan Hennig, Director of Marketing, Leupold. “Leupold is proud to support a community that holds itself and its gear to the highest standards.”
The organization is honored to welcome competitors from across the country and internationally. In addition to top U.S.-based hunters, this year’s championship will include elite participants from NRL Hunter South Africa, a testament to the series’ growing international reach and influence.
Safety a Top Priority
With the 2025 Grand Slam Championship set to take place in high temperatures and at elevation, NRL Hunter is placing a strong emphasis on competitor and staff safety. In partnership with Independence Training, a specialized medical preparedness session will be provided to attendees and staff to ensure everyone is informed and ready to handle the environmental challenges of the event. The session will focus on recognizing and preventing heat-related injuries, a vital topic for any outdoor endurance experience. The organization is committed to proactive safety measures, including on-site medical support, hydration stations, and sun protection guidance for all participants.
“Preparation is key,” said match director Josh Reeves. “We want every competitor and staff member to be focused, safe, and ready to perform at their best. This event is demanding, and we’re doing everything we can to set everyone up for success.”
This commitment reflects its ongoing mission to promote ethical, responsible hunting and competition practices—ensuring both performance and well-being go hand in hand.
Training for the Field, Not Just the Podium
As the 2025 season concludes just ahead of the traditional fall hunting season, NRL Hunter encourages all competitors to apply the knowledge, training, and refined skills gained throughout the year to their real-world hunting adventures.
“Our hope is that this experience has made every participant a better, more prepared, and more ethical hunter,” said Ishida. “Whether you competed in one match or the whole season, the lessons learned here have value far beyond the range.”
As it closes out its 5th successful season, NRL Hunter celebrates the milestones, friendships, and advancements made by its members and supporters. What began as a grassroots initiative has now grown into a respected platform where hunters refine their skills and connect through shared values.
